Modest Mouse- Sept 1st
Modest Mouse in Liverpool:
After realizing we had forgotten the tickets half way there and having to drive all the way back to Birmingham- I was rushed by guards through hidden halls and under the stage and crowd, and soon into the very front of everyone and the barriers. I had power with my photo pass.Isaac Brock’s voice disappeared into the instruments at some points and the crowd upset him towards the end but it was an excellent gig. It was upbeat and loud. I loved it.
& I couldn’t have requested a better set list.
Setlist: 1. Bury Me With It 2. Paper Thin Walls 3. Dramamine 4. Fire It Up 5. Bukowski 6. Education 7. Doin’ The Cockroach 8. Here’s To Now (Ugly Casanova cover) 9. 3rd Planet 10. Dashboard 11. The View 12. Baby Blue Sedan 13. Missed The Boat 14. King Rat 15. The Whale Song
Encore: Here It Comes & Spitting Venom (With I Came As A Rat lyrics)

Flaws

A new album by Bombay Bicycle Club!?
’Flaws’ is their very good take on the acoustic sound. It’s a lot more intimate than their 2009 debut album “I Had The Blues But I Shook Them Loose.” Folky, indie, lo-fi..
I wish this came out in May as this would have been a good road tripping summer album. It’s a warm and delicate album, meant to be listened to with a breeze drifting around you.
The album contains a John Martyn cover ‘Fairytale Lullaby’ which is very well portrayed with Jack Steadman’s shaky, soothing voice; resembling the voice of Devendra Banhart.
“…much of Flaws was recorded in singer Jack Steadman’s bedroom and produced by Jack himself”
Now for a pretty video of the pretty song “Rinse Me Down.”

-The Killers covering “Romeo and Juliet” by Dire Straits-
I can’t say I enjoy listening to all of Dire Straits music, but this song seems to have quite a lot of plays from me. The Killers cover it so well!
“You said, I love you like the stars above, I’ll love you till I die”
(And ehem, Brandon Flowers solo album!? Yes, please!)
